Are you fit?
Now that the gyms are open again, they are packed with people seeking to restore their pre-lockdown physical fitness. Some are seeking to build muscle while others are desperately trying to lose weight. It’s certainly a worthwhile activity but no matter how fit and strong you are right now; you will one die one day. How fit are you for eternity?
After death there is a judgement, where your holy Creator will review every single detail of your life – …it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Have you ever said “Oh my God”—that’s taking the Lord’s name in vain (commandment no. 3*)? Have you lied—even a “white” lie” (commandment no. 9)? Have you stolen something—e.g., from your workplace (commandment no. 8)? If you’ve lusted, then you’ve committed adultery in your heart (commandment no. 7). You will be found guilty and will certainly be justly condemned by a sin hating God.
However in His love and mercy, God has made a way for you to be totally cleansed of your sin, and instead have the gift of Heaven. How? Through Jesus Christ—He took your Hell for you on the cross, by suffering for your sin. He rose from the grave, defeating death. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God… (1 Peter 3:18).
To receive forgiveness, you need to wholeheartedly turn from your sin and put your complete trust in Christ’s perfect work on the cross. Then, team up with God’s people, and learn more.
